500 years ago this month a German monk allegedly nailed a document to the door of a church in Wittenburg Germany. The Reformation that this event encapsulates did not just change a generation or a country, it led to a rediscovery of biblical Christianity that stands to this day. This week and next we will examine two key principles that transform our lives today as they transformed lives 500 years ago. On Sunday, we’ll look at the measuring rod for our beliefs and our lives – by Scripture alone. If we can get a hold of his principle and live it out in our minds and hearts, it will give us the critical plumb line in a crazy world of competing ideas. Read Hebrews 4:12 and Ephesians 6:17 for some key thoughts.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
