We are glad that you are with us! Last week we began to look at the Sermon on the Mount- the first and longest teaching section in the Gospel of Matthew. We were introduced to the idea that the means of blessing in the Kingdom of Heaven will look very different than what our society understands as normal. As we continue through the beatitudes, we will come to three more attitudes that Christ calls blessed. But why is there blessing in meekness and mercy? If we lay down our rights, isn’t there the possibility of being trampled on? How do these “kingdom norms” impact the way that we think and act today? We hope that you will reach out and let us know how we can be praying for you, or if we can answer any questions that you might have.
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Matthew 5:5-7
