The Case for Condemnation

The Case for Condemnation

Good morning and welcome to our time of corporate worship here at Chapel City Church. We are working through the minor prophets this year, beginning with the book of Hosea. God will use the heartbreaking reality of Gomer’s adultery to demonstrate the rebellion of Israel’s idolatry. In chapter 2, God is going to lay out his case against his people. Like a prosecutor in a courtroom drama, the evidence is presented that demands a judgement. What does this difficult section teach us about sin? What does it mean for a holy God to deal with the sins of his people? Where do we find hope in places like this? If you have questions, or if there is a way that we can be praying for you, please reach out and let us know!

“For she does not know that it was I who gave her the grain, the new wine and the oil, and lavished on her silver and gold, which they used for Baal. Therefore, I will take back my grain at harvest time and my new wine in its season. I will also take away my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.”

Hosea 2:8-9
