Work to the Glory of God

Work to the Glory of God

Over the last month or so, we have looked at God’s design for the family, and how our obedience is an act of worship. This week we move from the home into the workplace. Paul addresses bondservants and masters in Colossians 3:22-4:1. While the social construct is very different, there is great value in thinking through our biblical response to authority. Each of us falls under the authority of another, and most of us exercise authority in some capacity of our lives. The question is, how can we do that to the glory of God? How does my view of God impact the way that I do my work? How is my understanding of God reflected in my view of money, provision, and reward? Does my view of authority take into account my submission to Christ? Join us as we study together and consider how even the daily activity associated with work can be something that we approach with an eternal perspective.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.  Colossians 3:23-24
