Anticipating the King

Anticipating the King

Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are so glad that you have joined us for our time of worship today. Christmas is in the rearview mirror, and that brings out all kinds of responses. Some people are relieved that the hurry and the stress are behind them. Some will keep the Christmas carols going and the lights up for as long as possible. And some people wonder what they have to look forward to now. For Christians, our whole lives are lived in anticipation. Because we know that this world is not our eternal home, there’s a sense in which we are always longing for what comes next. But why do we have to wait so long? What are we waiting for? And what are we supposed to do while we wait? The bible gives us answers to all of these questions, and we hope that in thinking through what Peter wrote to the church you will be encouraged in your walk. If you have any questions, we would love to hear from you!

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

2 Peter 3:8
