Confessing the King

Confessing the King

We are glad that you are here to worship with us this morning. So, let’s begin with a question: Do you know who you are worshipping? It might sound basic, or even unnecessary, but it’s the most important question that we can ask. It does no good in the scope of eternity to worship, even with great sincerity and enthusiasm, if the object of our worship is wrong. As we come to the middle of Matthew 16, Jesus asks his men who people say that he is. He follows up that question with an even more penetrating one: “Who do YOU say that I am?” That question must fill our hearts and minds this morning. Who do you say this Jesus is? If you are unsure of how to answer that question, we would love to talk with you further. If there is a way that we can be praying for you or ministering to you, please reach out to us.

Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Matthew 16:16
