Dealing Daily with Difficulty

As we come together on this Fiesta week, we hope that you will be in prayer for our outreach to the community as we open our building, or that you will come and serve alongside of us as you are able. But why do we do these things? Why do we bother to interact with our neighbors, our co-workers, or our community at all? The reason, of course, is that we believe that they need to hear the gospel. We understand that rejecting God has eternal consequences, and so we spend our time and our resources making the gospel known to people so that they might believe and be saved. As we work through Psalm 5 this week, we once again hear the cry of King David as he calls to God in his distress. He reminds us that God hears us, and he reminds us that God takes no pleasure in sin. There are some phrases in this Psalm that are difficult in the sense that they show us clearly that His holiness means that He takes sin seriously. We as a people have the privilege and responsibility to point the world to that Holy God. To speak of His righteous anger against sin, and of the grace and mercy that makes salvation possible. We hope that you will reach out to us with any questions or prayer requests. We would love to know how we can minister to you!

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy,
and spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may exult in you.
For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield.
Psalm 5:11-12
