Faith & Fear

Faith & Fear

As we work our way through the gospel of Matthew, we hope that you are continually reminded of the sovereign power and tender care of Jesus Christ. Matthew 14 has already demonstrated these things through the feeding of the thousands that we saw last week. But what comes next? What could follow up such a significant event in the ministry of Jesus? Well, the crowds want to make him king, but the King will not take his throne apart from the plan of his Father. This leads to another long night on the Sea of Galilee, and another opportunity for his disciples to understand just who it is that they are following. We pray that you too will see clearly who Jesus is, and that you too will surrender your life and follow him with your whole heart. If there is a way that we can be praying for you, or if there are questions that we can answer for you, please reach out and let us know!

And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
