Heart or Habit?

Heart or Habit?

When we talk about worshipping together, what do we mean by that? Is our worship defined by the things that we sing, say and do? As we move into Matthew 15, the idea of real worship will be at the heart of the conflict between Jesus and the religious leaders. They assumed that in doing things that looked right, they could make themselves right with God. Jesus condemns them in their hypocrisy as those who do one thing outwardly, but inside are something completely different. So how do we avoid falling into the same failure? How do we make sure that our worship is really done in spirit and in truth? If you have questions, or if there are ways that we can be praying for you, please reach out and let us know!

You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. In vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.

Matthew 15:7-9
