Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are so glad that you’ve joined us for our time of worship this morning. We are working our way through the Minor Prophets; a series of short books with major truths that we need to understand. As we come to Micah 5, we are in one of the few well-known passages from this understudied book. We have seen that Jerusalem will come under judgement because of the people’s sin. We have also seen God’s promise of restoration that will come in the future. But who leads that restoration? What do we know about the king who will come to lead his people and the nations? And how does the story of Jesus Christ impact our understanding of what God will do in the future?
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Micah 5:2
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
from ancient days.
