From Ruin to Restoration

From Ruin to Restoration

Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are thankful that you have joined us for our time of worship this week, and we would love to know how we can be praying for you. If you have any questions or prayer requests, please reach out and let us know. This week we will close the Book of Zephaniah. What does it look like to live a life of rebellion against God? Whether Jew or Gentile, ancient or modern, the marks are the same. The closing chapters of Zephaniah give us those marks of rebellion. But rejection isn’t the end of the story. In his perfect faithfulness, God will redeem and restore a people for himself. And in the closing half of chapter 3 we see the marks of a restored people. But how does that challenge and encourage us today?

On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem:
“Fear not, O Zion;
    let not your hands grow weak.
The Lord your God is in your midst,
    a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
    he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.
I will gather those of you who mourn for the festival,
    so that you will no longer suffer reproach.

Zephaniah 316-18
