I will Build My Church – Part 8: The Church & Waiting

Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are so glad that you’ve joined us for our time of worship today. As we move through the book of Acts, we have been reminded of what the church is called to be and do. While time, language, and culture change, we know that there are enduring characteristics of the people of God that do not. This week, we will work through two different passages with the same theme. How does the church respond when we are called to wait? Perhaps it’s a lack of clear direction, or maybe it’s a lack of freedom to pursue what we were certain God had called us to pursue. Whatever the reason, there are times when everything seems to come to a stop. What are we supposed to do when there doesn’t seem to be much clarity about what comes next?

And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. So, passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

Acts 16:6-10
