I Will Build My Church
Part 2: The Church at Work

Good morning and welcome to our time of worship here at Chapel City Church! We are working through the book of Acts with an eye toward the church. In Matthew 16, Jesus promised that he would build his church, and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. But what makes and marks a church? The opening chapter of Acts showed us that the church is composed of believers, and that believers are filled with the Holy Spirit. This week we will focus on what the Spirit produces in the church. If the Spirit is a real presence in our lives, then what will our lives look like? How will it change our actions and attitudes? How do we think about and approach spiritual gifts? We would love the chance to talk with you, pray with you, or answer any questions that you might have!

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:1-4
