Welcome to Chapel City Church! We are glad that you have come to worship with us today. In Matthew Chapter 16, Jesus made a remarkable promise. He told his disciples that he would build his church, and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. But what is the church? What are the key characteristics and defining features of this church that Christ promised to build. After all, isn’t the church different in every time, place, and culture? Or are there things that are consistent across the centuries? As we move into the book of Acts, we are going to examine this church that Christ promised to build. In understanding what the church is, we will be encouraged in our obedience and challenged to grow in those areas where we struggle.
