Oppressed, Afflicted, & Silent

Oppressed, Afflicted, & Silent

As we move through Matthew 26, we have come to the first of Jesus’ trials. From an earthly perspective, nothing seems to be right with this situation. It’s a trial in the wrong place at the wrong time, and carried out in the wrong way. Rather than truth, we see injustice after injustice. But Christ remains in control. He is not bullied or intimidated. He is not afraid that somehow they will get it wrong. He speaks the truth. He fulfills scripture. In every moment and with every word he proves himself faithful, obedient, and worthy.

“And the High priest said to him, “I endure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the son of God.“ Jesus said to him, “You have said so. But I tell you from now on you will see the son of man seated at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Matthew 26:63-64
