Our Faithful Father

Our Faithful Father

Thank you for joining us here at Chapel City Church! We are so glad that you are with us today. Throughout the Sermon on the Mount, we have been consistently reminded of two things: The first is the unfailing nature and character of God, and the second is the high calling placed on the life of the kingdom citizen and disciple of Christ. Last week we worked through a passage that talked about judgement, discernment, and dealing with sin in our lives and the lives of others. That can be a very tricky thing to practically navigate. How do we do that well? Beyond that, how are we able to pursue any of those things that we have been called to do? How do we pray rightly, give generously, and live righteously? On our own, in our sin, they are not possible. But God has graciously given us what we need, and promises to continue in that faithfulness. And so we are reminded to come to the Father, to ask on an ongoing basis for those things that we lack. And, as children of the King of Kings, we know that our faithful Father gives good gifts to His people.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
