Righteousness Revealed

Righteousness Revealed

Welcome to Chapel City Church! As we gather together for our time of corporate worship, we also want to know how we can be praying for you as an individual or a family. If there is a need that we can surround with prayer, or perhaps even come alongside in a practical way, please reach out and let us know. A great way to do that is by filling out the connection card in your bulletin and handing it to an usher or placing it in one of the offering boxes. As we open up God’s Word today, we will be working through Habakkuk 2. In the first chapter, the prophet asked some serious questions. He wondered whether God even cared about the sinful state of his people. And then he wondered whether it was right for God to use the wicked Chaldeans to discipline Judah. Chapter 2 gives us God’s response to both. We will be reminded that whether we understand or agree with God’s timing, he is never late. And we will also be reminded that God’s character is always perfect. He will deal fully with sins, whether they are those of his people or the nations. But how did that help Habakkuk, and how does that encourage us today?

And the Lord answered me:
“Write the vision;
    make it plain on tablets,
    so he may run who reads it.
For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
    it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
    it will surely come; it will not delay.
“Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
    but the righteous shall live by his faith.

Habakkuk 2:2-4
