This week we will worship together through song and study, but we will also gather together to celebrate communion. The celebration of the Lord’s Supper is one of those things that binds us together as believers. We remember that each of us is sinful, and that our sin separates us from God. We remember that there is one savior, Jesus Christ, whose death on the cross reconciled us to God. And we look forward to our glorious reunion with Him when we stand in His presence. But why does it matter that we worship together? Why do we go through the time and trouble of arranging our schedules, preparing our families, and preparing our hearts to be with God’s people each week? The Psalms speak to that as well! This week we will work through Psalm 133. In this brief song, David reminds us that it is not only commanded that the people of God gather together, but that there is great blessing when we do.
