The Disciple’s Prayer

The Disciple’s Prayer

Welcome back to Chapel City Church! Whether you are able to join us in person or online, we are glad that you have come to worship with us today. We rejoice with those of you that we have seen, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming many more of you in the coming weeks. If you would like to join us in person, please let us know by sending an email to info@chapelcity.church. We have been looking at the characteristics of real and false righteousness. The hypocrites may carry out many of the same behaviors as the disciple, but the heart is always focused on receiving the praise of men rather than rightly responding to God. Last week we began to look at what marked the disciple’s prayer life, and we will continue along those lines this week. As we come to Matthew 6:9-10, we enter into the very familiar passage of The Lord’s Prayer. Why is this such an important part of training and informing our prayer life? How do these wonderful truths not only equip us for obedience today, but drive our perspective forward toward our eternal hope? We hope that you are challenged and encouraged as you seek to walk in obedience to Jesus Christ. If there is a way that we can be praying for you or ministering to you, please reach out and let us know!

Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10
