We are moving through the heart of the book of Colossians. The foundation has been laid, and Paul has made it clear that in Jesus Christ believers have everything that they need. Now, as we move through chapter 2, he begins to address the dangerous false teaching that was creeping into the church in Colossae. What are some of the characteristics of that false teaching? Are there any overlaps with what the church faces today? What makes false teaching so dangerous in the first place? This week we will work though these questions as we see the folly of man-made religion. We hope that through this study you are encouraged in your walk, strengthened in your faith, and brought to the place of worship of our savior, Jesus Christ.
Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. Colossians 2:16-17
