The King’s Call

The King’s Call

We are so glad that you have come to worship with us today. We have been working our way through chapters 8 and 9 in Matthew’s gospel, and we have seen that they focus heavily on the authority of Jesus Christ. He teaches with authority, he heals with authority, he casts out demons with authority, and he even has the authority to forgive sins. All of this presented authority demands a response. If this is the King as Matthew has demonstrated Him to be, then how are we called to respond to the authority of that King? Who is able to enter into His kingdom, and how will they come? What attitude should mark the servants of the King when He is with them? Please let us know how we can be praying for you and if there is a need that we might be able to help meet.

Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.

Matthew 9:13
