Merry Christmas, and welcome to Chapel City Church! We are only days away from celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. If you haven’t been with us (or if you need the reminder), we have been working through a series called, “What Child is This?” While the song is familiar, the question is critical. If we miss who Jesus is, we have missed everything. We have seen from the Gospel of Matthew that He is the Son of Promise; the proof of God’s faithfulness. We have seen from the Gospel of Luke that He is the Son of Adam; the one who became our perfect representative and faithful high priest. Today, we will look at Mark 1 and work through what it means for Jesus to be the Son of God. That baby in the manger did not find His beginning in Bethlehem. He was there in the beginning, He was there when creation was called into existence, and He will be glorified for all eternity. We are so glad that you have come to worship with us today, and we would love the opportunity to talk with you, pray with you, or answer any questions that you might have.

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. Hebrews 1:1-4
