During this Advent season, there is a great deal of anticipation. Some of that anticipation is the excitement and joy that surrounds this season. We look forward to friends, family, gifts, food, and so many wonderful things. Some of that anticipation comes closer to apprehension. The season might bring with it some things that make celebration difficult. It is our hope that as we sing and study about the birth of Jesus Christ, that you will be brought to a place of worship. Worship in knowing that Jesus Christ came to save. Worship in knowing that He became like us so that we might one day be made like Him. And we hope that worship brings you to anticipation once again. Anticipation for the day when that promised king will come again. Anticipation of that time when those who have placed their faith in Christ will be with Him for all eternity. Today we will continue through our series called “What Child is This?” Last week we saw Jesus as the Son of Promise. This week we will look at Jesus as the Son of Adam.

And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. Luke 1:46-50
