Good morning, and welcome to our time of worship here at Chapel City Church. Today we will come to the end of the Book of Zechariah as we near the end of our journey through the Minor Prophets. This wonderful book concludes with a sweeping picture of the Lord as a king coming to establish his kingdom. On that day, he will overcome the hatred of his people Israel and defeat their gathered enemies. On that day there will signs in the heavens and physical changes to the earth as he establishes his rule. On that day, his authority will be recognized by all creation. And on that day, he will restore his people. So why does God give us such a detailed look at what’s coming? How does an understanding of the end remind us to live in light of the consummation of human history? We would love to answer any questions that you have, and to know how we can be praying for you specifically! On that day there shall be no light, cold, or frost. And there shall be a unique day, which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but at evening time there shall be light. On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea and half of them to the western sea. It shall continue in summer as in winter. And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
