Celebrating the Resurrection

Celebrating the Resurrection

Welcome to our time of celebration as we remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead! The empty tomb is more than a historical fact or theological talking point. The fact that Jesus Christ was raised to life is central to the message of the gospel and essential for our daily walk. The resurrection of Jesus means that we have a living hope, a secure eternity, and the ability to walk in joyful obedience through the circumstances of our lives. The truth of the resurrection is something that we should celebrate not only during a certain time of the year, but on an ongoing basis. But what is it that we are celebrating? How does the life of Christ impact the life that we live now, and the hope that we have for when this life is over?

When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:54-57
