Today we will finish the book of Haggai. The prophet has challenged the people to consider their ways. They must give careful attention to the path that their actions have set them on. And when they hear the rebuke, the people respond! The work on the temple resumes after a 15 year wait. But there are some things that threaten the work. What are the dangers that this people face that would prevent them from finishing what they’ve started? How does God’s presence and promise move them toward faithfulness, and why does that matter to us?
For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts.
