Welcome to our time of worship here at Chapel City Church. We are so glad that you have joined us today, and we would love to know how we can be praying for you or ministering to you during this time. As we have worked through Matthew 8 and 9, we have seen a pattern develop. Matthew presents a series of miracles followed by a section where people respond to Christ. This week we will begin the final series of miracles in these two chapters. Jesus has proven his authority over disease, natural elements, demons, and even sin. Today, we will see that Jesus Christ has the power to overcome death itself. Our passage is two miracles in one scene. One is accomplished on behalf of an outcast, one for a man of influence. But why does it matter that Jesus can bring life where there was death? What is the role of faith in the miraculous accounts of the gospels? We hope that you are encouraged by hearing from God’s word, and challenged to know God and respond to Him in worship and obedience. Let us know how we can encourage you in these areas!
