The King Who Came &

The King Who Came &
is Coming Again

Thank you for joining us for our time of corporate worship here at Chapel City Church. As we prepare our hearts to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are reminded of the day that he entered into the city of Jerusalem. He came in humility, riding on the colt of a donkey. He came to fulfill prophecies made hundreds of years before. He came in to the cheers of thousands who anticipated welcoming him as a conquering king. And he had indeed come to conquer. But at that point, he was not going to overthrow the oppression of Rome. He was not going to be a political savior. Jesus Christ came into his city to conquer the power of sin and death through his atoning death on the cross. And today, we celebrate the king who came and who is coming again!

As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying,
“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Luke 19:37-38

Join us for our Family Communion after the service.
