The Call to Prayer & Proclaim

The Call to Prayer & Proclaim

As we move into the last chapter of Colossians, we are going to see Paul revisit a topic that he brought up earlier in the letter. In Colossians 1, Paul told the believers in Colossae that he was praying for them, and that his highest hopes were for their spiritual growth. Now, as he closes the letter, he will ask for their prayers on his behalf. As we read his request, we are going to be challenged to think about how we pray and how we live. We are called to prayer that is constant and thankful. We are called to prayer that pleads for open doors to share the gospel. And then, we are called to live in a way that demonstrates and displays that gospel change. And what a fitting conclusion to the body of the letter! If Christ is everything that the bible claims Him to be, then how could we not share it? Join us as we are challenged to boldly and clearly communicate the gospel that has transformed our hearts and minds. If you have questions, or if we can be praying for you, please let us know.

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.   Colossians 4:5-6

“There are two kinds of people, those who have been impacted by the Gospel and those who have not been.” Such an important thing to remember. Easy for the culture to talk us out of too if we don’t set our minds on Christ’s lordship and all that it entails. Wisdom is more than being a “nice” person. Great stuff! And always “speak graciously.” Amen to that.
