The Mission of the Church: Why Are We Here?

The Mission of the Church: Why Are We Here?

We are moving into the fall, and with the new school year comes a new year of ministry as well! But we have to ask ourselves why we do the things that we do. As a church, are we able to identify not only why we have certain ministries, but are we able to identify why it is we exist in the first place? This week we will begin a sermon series that seeks to answer that question. We will work through the mission of the church, and then we will explore the priorities and practices that allow us to carry out that mission. Christ promised to build His church. He gave the church clear instructions as to what we are to be doing as we wait for His return. In the coming weeks, our hope is that we all understand what God has called us to be and do in His word, and that everything that we do here at Chapel City is aligned with His calling for us. We would love to answer any questions you have, and we hope that you will also let us know how we can be praying for you!

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  Ephesians 2:8-10
