As we come together to worship today, we are reminded of the fact that the gospel does not leave us unchanged. We were dead in our trespasses and sins. We walked in the way of the world as we lived in rebellion against God. But in Christ we are born again. We are to be a changed and transformed people. We know that we aren’t saved by what we do, but we also realize that being called a new creation should mean that we live our lives differently. But what does it mean to be a transformed people? I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
