Family for the Glory of God, Part 2: HUSBANDS

Our highest goal here is to worship God in all that we do. When we understand who He is, when we understand who we are, and when we understand what He has done, our only right response is to offer Him the worship that He deserves. And that worship isn’t limited to the songs that we sing on a Sunday morning. Rather, it encompasses every area of our lives.  It will display itself in the way that we think, the way that we interact with one another and with the world, and the way that we behave. One area of our lives that our worship of God is most publicly displayed is that of the family. We are called to “do” family for the glory of God. To think deeply and biblically about what roles we are called to, and how we are to function within those roles. This week we will look at the high calling of the Christian husband. How is he called to lead and guide his family? How should his love of God shape and inform his love for his wife? As we work through this pointed section of scripture that speaks to the details of family life, we invite you to let us know how we can be praying for you and with you. We hope that you will ask questions, that you will find encouragement and accountability, and that God’s word will set the standard for how we think about the family unit.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him… Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.  Colossians 3:17 & 19
